Hi Hanrahan, sorry if my response to LouL is puzzling to you. I simply dont like being badgered into doing something when I have already suggested that the poster obtain better information from others. Below is part of my response to you in the politics forum that basically sets out my position and I have no more to add on the subject.

I am am a believer in climate change although uncertain as to the best solutions. Like a lot of things sometimes all we can do is try to make something of what the experts tell us and then make up our minds. I mean most of us LOL are not scientists or top flight economists. Both areas always attract differing views and we have to just make up our own minds as to which way we will go. Its like stocks. The are hundreds of stocks and investment opportunities and dozens of different ways to choose which stocks we want. There is no clear cut answer and its the same with climate change. Given that with climate change we cant afford to be wrong we can try to insure ourselves by trying to reduce what is deemed the biggest threat from climate change.

Sometimes I feel one has to put your trust in the people for whose views you have respect. a bit like going to your doctor. I prefer the insurance policy argument for action on climate change.

From a HC investment perspective many green industries can evolve once an ETS is in place and I will be taking a stake in a couple of ASX listed companies when that happens.

cheers Hanrahan and its ok to be a sceptic.
