Sure, my take just talking generally about the Highbury DC unicharger is that firstly it’s probably a result of the evolution of the bidirectional product while waiting for the car and grid utilities to confirm the comm standards in ISO 15118-20
Secondly I note it’s only available in 3 phase (11kw), not single phase (7kW). Single is mostly not used in households in US/Aust, but is more common in the EU.
3 phase delivers a lot more power so figures I’ve seen is charging 50% quicker than single phase.
So my guess is work charging, depots, shopping centres where 3 phase is mostly available is more the target market.
With huge volumes of BEV’s in the market soon , the quicker the better for convenience. I’ve already seen ‘ charge rage’ issues emerging in UK and US ie cars blocking charging stations and other drivers unplugging themconfused.png And with the forecast more bidirectional , there will be increasing demand for drivers to take that power home for peak shaving , and grid network firming abilities.
