multibillion dollar companies are happy to invest in things that are subsidised by you, other taxpayers and money printers. Pharmaceutical companies are also happy to produce billions of doses of medicine, and not even bother to adjust it for new strains, if the governments are happy to subsidise it. I'd be happy to do all sorts of unproductive things as long as I am compensated sufficiently.
