Different styles. It boils down to investors vs traders. I'm under the investor category. When choosing a company to invest in, investors will generally dollar cost average. They don't try to pick the bottom as it's impossible to do. What they see are opportunities to buy at a discounted price. They don't concern themselves with short term volatility. That's why you see some posters say they picked up some more when the price is going down.
Traders have a different playbook. It's very different. Different strokes for different folks.
