Boliden Aitik mine is not good comparison. The Aitik mine is the largest open pit mine in Europe.
So the environment impact has already been done. So to approve permitting for more Copper extraction from a existing mine is different than applying to start a new mine in location that has not been mined before.
Also the Aitik copper mine area is not under conservation Natura2000 permitting protection.
