Re: Exploration Acquisition - South Gross Tete Project, Iberville Parish, Louisanna
The Directors of Amadeus Energy Limited are pleased to announce that through its 100% owned USA
subsidiary, Amadeus Petroleum Inc, the Company has agreed to participate for a 50% working interest in an oil
and gas exploration project located in the South Gross Tete project area, located in northeast Iberville Parish,
South Louisana, approximately 15 miles southwest of Baton Rouge. Amadeus will be the largest working
interest owner, in keeping with its intention to expand its exposure to exploration drilling, in tandem with an
ongoing effort to acquire producing properties with exploration and development potential.
Four principal plays will be tested in the South Grosse Tete prospect area over the next three years, at depths in
the range of 11,000 feet to 17,000 feet.
At year-end 2004-2005 a drilling program of the shallowest and least expensive of the plays will commence, this
being the Bol Mex sand, at a depth of approximately 11,300 feet. Potential recoverable reserves on the field are
estimated to be in the range of 2.5 million barrels of oil and 2.5 billion cubic feet of associated gas. The proposed
location lies approximately 4000 feet southeast of the Bayou Choctaw Northwest field, which has made over 2.5
million barrels of oil and 3.0 billion cubic feet of gas from the Bol Mex formation, from a structural position
which is approximately flat to the South Grosse Tete prospect. The prospect is based on 3D seismic data, which
suggests that the South Grosse Tete prospect should lie flat to thirty five feet high, to the Bayou Choctaw
Northwest field, and have similar long-life reserve potential
Dry-hole costs are expected to be approximately $US1.4 million per well, with a further $US0.5 million on
completion costs (100%), including pipeline connection.
This project represents a further step in the Company’s policy of directing a portion of net cash flow to potential
high return exploration projects in the USA. This program is an expansion of the success that the Company has
achieved in its wildcat exploration drilling programs elsewhere in the USA, notably the Halletsville South
Project Area in Lavaca County Texas, and the Red Creek project, Jefferson County, Oklahoma.
