Like you Hap I was convinced the people of Narsaq would want jobs and full employment but obviously, they voted against scared by the U tailings and a dam hanging over their heads and bought the fear. To be fair, I would not see many people in our western countries being so enamoured with the same situation of a U mine next to their homes even if it's totally safe as I believe this project is. If Greenland wasn't a democracy you may well have seen a so-called authoritarian (or left) regime willing to discard the people's interest and allow it to proceed. A dichotomy perhaps of your political views.
