The morning QAN Melbourne - Singapore flight today has 57 cattle class users but 269 seats, so 78 per cent of seats lack an individual booked.

The same destination, but originating in SYD has just 52 in that class.

QF1 looks to have 109 of 166 economy seats taken for its first sector from SYD to Darwin at 1645 AEDT this afternoon. While better, given there's a paucity of flights between these two cities and Territorians who escaped 'down south' for summer (avoiding rain and humidity, in theory, you'd think it should be close to full given it serves two destinations. It's low season for travelling to London/Europe but the Ukraine war has put new emphasis on 'low'. QAN used to have a daily A380 from each of SYD and Melbourne via Dubai, changed later to via Singapore, before it instead began operating via Perth (which morphed via Darwin) with the half size (in seating) Boeing 787-900s.
