13th Feb 2022 was a few weeks before the war started, what context changed so drastically did you think I was wrongly implying?

Ukraine was always a proxy because everyone who were not naive knew that NATO or US would not be able to help physically unless they risk a full scale war leading to a nuclear one. They tried to push the boundary of Putin's tolerance, tried to call his bluff on the red line condition that he declared. Leading up to the day when Russia attacked, Biden was publicly declaring the circumstances under which Putin will decide, etc. Remember, a few weeks prior, Biden HAD already declared publicly that no US troops will be in Ukraine. Why would Biden do this in the public space?

Go back to the Cuba crisis and you see parallels when Russia wanted to put nuclear weapons there. When Ukraine toyed with the idea publicly with nuclear weapon in his country, what do you think the Russian would have done any differently? Again, go back to Iraq invasion and the idea of Saddam possessing WMD with very rubbery information which we now know as pareidolia, so US has lost the moral authority to use the rule of law framework to tell others what is right and wrong. Ukraine is just an experiment to push the boundary of discovery of Putin's tolerance. The real losers are the people and the false belief that NATO will come charging in to help out.
