The flights to London and much of Europe have been altered. I've just come with Singapore and the flight went way south and added an extra hour to the route - 14 hrs 10 mins instead of 13 hrs 10 mins going over Ukraine and northern Europe as is normally the route to save on fuel. Another extra cost to airlines like Qantas.
Singapore has recently been actually flying more international passengers than Qantas of late to and from Australia. Why anyone would want to sit on a plane for 17 hours+ from Darwin amazes me and clearly many don't. That is now longer too, given it used to fly over Russia.
