In the 1980's millions of workers engaged in mass strikes and demonstrations across Yugoslavia demanding better wages and living standards etc etc.
No workers cared particularly about ethnicity or thought about breaking up Yugoslavia nor were they demanding "more capitalism".

Seeing the danger and also taking the opportunity to break up a country which was seen as an "ally" of USSR, then Russia, US and German imperialism began to work with any regional forces and political individuals and parties to break up Yugoslavia into bankrupt little statelets that could be more easily manipulated and controlled.
The bloodshed and massacres were a foregone conclusion which bothered the imperialists not one wit.
The operation "destroy Yugoslavia" was a prelude to "operation destroy Russia and China".

Srebrenica massacre was one of many atrocities committed, by all sides, which were an inevitable once "imperialist" regime change and map redrawing is embarked upon.
If you are really concerned about massacres you should be opposed to all the US/NATO regime change wars and the targeting of Russia and China for regime change by the aggressive imperialist US/NATO military alliance.

Croatian conviction casts light on US responsibility for war crimes

Last week, the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia in the Hague found two Croatian military leaders, General Ante Gotovina and Assistant Interior Minister Mladen Markac, guilty of war crimes and sentenced them to 24 years and 18 years imprisonment, respectively.

German imperialism, anxious to flex its political muscles after reunification, had promoted Croat secession and rushed to extend recognition. While both the US and the other Western European powers initially opposed recognition, they ultimately accepted Germany’s position.
