"FBR won't need to buy or lease them but a WaaS/OEM/Private partner can."

If FBR doesn't buy or lease the HX machines how does FBR supply WaaS?
If some other partner supply WaaS to builder,s how does FBR get revenue off that WaaS. From FBR point of view, that looks more like FBR selling HX units to other companies. Yep, this model is what I like. Let the other companies take the risk on the CapEx in machines required for WaaS.
Or do you mean FBR licenses the WaaS business model, like a franchise does? Perhaps. Seems a long risky road though.

"FBR can stick to R&D for new products."
Do you really want FBR to remain as an R&D company, constantly needing investment with decade long leadtimes to receive the profits from the R&D?
I don't think that would be good for the share price.
