Well. They created lot of hypes last year and many investors were falling into the trap.
Governments will put more regulations into BNPL this yeat; that's why there are sell-off.
Just keep in mind, new sectors will be struggling and start consolidating. BNPL still has room to grow. It like 20 years ago who believe in DOT? few years ago who believe in Bitcoin?
