I suspect the reviewers could not mention the FDA because this watch is NOT FDA approved and they could get into hotwater. But I do get your point.
I have actually liked the 4 reviews I have seen and I actually do not want all the other c##p that comes with a smart watch. I carry my phone everywhere so why do I need to do stuff on a smaller wrist screen when I have my phone. I am at an age where reading is a pain in the neck without glasses which I hate carting around, so why would I want pictures and text messages on a watch screen. Makes no sense, for me at least. And I don't think the market for this is really anyone under 40 anyway. With a massive over 40's market, who, as a western demographic group, in large part have better finances, and health concerns being a far more relevant issue, who wouldn't buy this at this price point if health is a front and centre issue for you ?
I think this appears to delivers a fabulous and very cheap package fitting its purpose which is heart health. It is not trying to be a smart watch like apple or galaxy with vastly inflated prices and terrible battery life in comparison. This is firmly in the health monitoring category and I could see Drs suggesting this to patients as something higher risk people may find as a helpful or reassuring tool. Looking forward to taking delivery soon and it will not be leaving my wrist. Love the fact I can swim with it too. As for the SP, I am very relaxed and nibbling away at a few more
