It seems trivial and irreverent to worry about our investments a shareholders in COI whilst the ongoing atrocities are happening in Ukraine – but with Europe getting one third of it’s natural gas supplies from Russia with much of it passing via Ukraine with the most recent news indicating that the ‘tap’ will be turned off - plus the exponential rise in world gas prices – it can’t have escaped the major players attention that COI is sitting on what the market needs with additional reserves being added from Mahalo North in the not too distant future.
I wonder whether behind closed doors there are discussions taking place with larger players looking to secure future production – especially as basic economics dictate that when demand outstrips supply – that’s the time to strike the best deal with future supply.
Just a thought.
