I'm actually quite concerned that POH have NOT been able to convince an existing consumer brand in the cosmetics market to adopt TPM technology.
Why wouldn't Revlon or one of the many other players be interested in a fairdinkum scientific edge that produces tangible benefits that cannot be matched by their competitors?
I think the strategy to go it alone is deeply flawed, will ultimately cost the Company a lot of money and will probably fall well short of what management would like us to believe. I completely disagree with Esra's assertion that this is a direction that will lead to POH becoming financially independant in a shorter period of time.
I think going it alone will be a massive distraction and an enormous drain on our funds and for a Company with no income it makes very little sense.
If we can't convince an existing player to adopt our technology it suggests to me the clinical benefits to end users may not stack up or our management team are doing a lousy job of selling the science. Maybe TPM just simply does what it does ... delivers deeper into the dermis, however is this necessary to provide better outcomes compared to formulations already in use?
If we have approached existing brands and they have knocked us back, what is that saying?
There is something fundamentally wrong with the decision to have a crack at going alone. It smacks of a hollow move to deflect shareholder criticism for not being able to consumate commercial deals in any indication yet so we'll do one ourselves. This buys the board breathing space as it will take a fair bit of time to confront the sad conclusions this direction is likely to realize. I guess they are hoping something else falls into place between now and then and this current move buys them the time to save their corporate hide.
We need business people running this Company not whitecoats. I'm not saying the people we've got are not smart, no doubt they are in a scientific sort of way, what we want and need are people who can put the deals together and leverage the potential of our technology.
The more I consider the December newsletter the more pathetic it looks IMO. To me it is a bit of an indication that management thinks ordinary shareholders are a gullible lot and will embrace such rhetoric.
Not this little duck!
For those who don't understand the dynamics of what POH are proposing please don't underestimate the difficulty of what they are proposing. It's a fierce market and many potentially great products fail, just ask anyone who works in FMCG.
Cheers
