but the overall effect of this is two fold : world access to grain (especially wheat) will decrease, especially in the trading areas that Ukraine is close to, and this is the second, that it is due to this that the price has risen. Simple supply and demand...supply goes down, demand goes up. Or is it that simple? I am not so sure....how much grain does Ukraine ship to Russia? What grades of grain does Ukraine produce ? Do they for instance have the equiv to Australian Prime Hard? It would be great to put all of the questions in a giant supercomputer, and work out the best answers, and then the price of grain futures...etc etc....but of course the answer would be wrong in 50% of the time!
But well done anyway Graincorp, the fundamentals were put into place long before the Ukraine tragedy.
