Fair time for clean energy transition must take at least 10 to 20 years. Australia used to have 4 coal plants. Today Australia probably maintained just 1. In contrast, I believed China has over 2000 coal plants to feed energy for industries & 1.4b people. So practically said, Australia C02 emission from coal plant compared to China is just a fraction. To be fair, Australia can not save the world by turn it off instantly like a water tap but China & others continued to burn coals to feed their economy & population. However the world especially countries with much bigger populations must do more to reduce C02 emission.
