From my reading, it makes the system 7% cheaper... and doesn't use much Nickel though? Doesn't seem like quite massive news..... though, certainly very useful when you consider that, eventually, hundreds of millions of hydrogen cars may be made.... if the technology can be further refined.
Also, one area in the USA is expecting 100,000ish electric cars within 5ish years (I might be misquoting todays AFR... but, the general numbers are accurate)... if Nickel is used in those batteries... and, a large number of hydrogen cars also use Nickel... demand might rise dramatically :).
