Have you done the maths on this one?
If the battery is good for 1,000km and you multiply that by 1,000 charge and discharge cycles, that is 1,000,000km.
How many cars do you know that can do 1million km and still have the original OEM components that came out of the factory with?
And let's say the end user is a regular person who does 15,000km a year, that battery is good for 66 years....
So then we cut the cycles in half, 500. That is still a 500,000km battery... Regular combustion would barely be able to do 500,000km without a rebuild or money spent on it, so if you have to replace the battery after 500,000km, I don't think anyone can complain.
Also, there's still one unknown thing about cycles, even after the said cycles, the battery can still hold charge but most likely not above 70%, but it will eventually get to a point where the capacity will taper, so it technically still doesn't render the battery useless.
