No....if murder cannot be proved, its manslaughter. i think you can have a 20 year max for that. Everyone wants every killer hanged but its two seperate issues. So i get the gender discrepancy you alluded to but in court it wont make a difference. You wont get more just for being a man. Extraneous circumstances will affect the ultimate sentence. I knew a bloke who stabbed his twenty long year close friend in the guts with a knife and got 5and a half with a three and a half year minimum. Both lads a bit pissed but that was a low number .
