The conventional settings for LCT pegmatites are very valid but we are now entering a new phase of exploration for lithium and associated rare metals. The Calidus discovery at Spear Hill now confirms what I have been saying for some time -there is huge potential in the granite batholiths not on the margins but wholly within the fractionated Split Rock Supersuite intrusives. Have a look at the Pirra Lithium analytical results - altered granites notwithstanding high Fe up to 2.91 % Li2O . The pegmatites parallel to the foliated or gneissic granites with consistent high grade Li2O similar to areas I just pegged within several granite batholiths. The widths 10-30 metres Its early days but if I am right new Goldilocks Zones in the Pilbara are emerging.
