Looking at all the requirements and all the boxes that have to be ticked prior to the issuance of a final mining convention is worrying. In a country where consensus might be difficult to attain, a final mining convention could take many months. I feel the gloom closing in on me. The appointment of the new CEO at the start of this year tells me that this is nowhere near the done deal that I was expecting late last year. The CAY faithful, who are already the personification of patience, will it seems be further sorely tested. I was 73 when I first bought CAY in July 2019 and hopefully will make 77 later this year. I don't even buy green bananas these days and wonder if I, along with the CAY faithful, will be celebrating this year?
