So SBM was fined 250k for failing to comply with federal and provincial environmental regulations at and around its Touquoy open pit gold mine. Interestingly, even though there is over 150 years of gold mining in Nova Scotia, a climate change group has sprung into action and is opposing the Atlantic Gold mine and its proposed expansion. The government body is now called - Nova Scotia Environment and "Climate Change" (NSECC). When you see those two words, run.
