When I replied to your post on fear, I had in mind that for any given situation, individual risk proclivities vary dramatically, and I had in mind a joust with Goodfella58 in early 2200 about the affect of Covid on CCP – an example of two very different risk perspectives on a common global problem. I could not remember Goodfella58's tag, so for the want of the facts, I did not write what I had in mind, and I wrote about my reaction to buy CCP.
I stumbled on the Goodfella58 tag today when researching my posts in 2020 to see what I had written about PDL amortisation within the framework of the Fair-value accounting standard. His post 43748683 of 28/03/20 is the one I wanted to use as an example of a risk perspective contrary to mine.
By using HC's “Advanced Search” I listed Goodfella58's other CCP-related posts in 2020. I found his negativity and level of fear interesting, because not being an empathetic person, I am not good at understanding other folk's fears, but it is wise to recognise that they exist. Lack of empathy is why I am an investor who acts on what I think, and not a trader who acts on what he thinks the market thinks.
