I am not sure I am getting your point. It is one thing to grow a market and economy it is another to grow population. With the power of hindsight one could argue if we maintained our population at the 10 million level or so that it was years ago one could argue with the resource boom we could have been the richest people on earth per capita.
More to the point if we had a relatively stable population we could assess how responsible our governments actually are running the country from a comparative basis plus housing would be a little cheaper and more sensible. One other thing, the greenies would be happier and it wouldn't take as long to get from one side of Sydney to the other. Remember the best things in life are free.
