    I totally agree that the best thing we can teach our children is to be 'interested', and to 'question'.
    I also gave thumbs up to the post about the neice and the ETS and global warming. I already point out headlines to my children and ask them what they think. Usually the answer is the one intended, but then I get them to question it, and it is amazing how quickly, once given the tools for analytical thought, they question and work it out for themselves.

    I also agree with quite a few of the posters here that academic results do not necessarily make a man. In that respect I'm not too fussed that my daughter gets 'C's from a stupid reporting system. I know she is bright and she knows she is bright. She will make her own way in life :-)
