I see XRP/Ripple as a threat to companies like Spenda. XRP/Ripple are the ledger, that is one of Spenda's selling points, the ledger to ledger confirmation/reconciliation for account keeping. If XRP/Ripple are the ledger, surely they have a product that will view the whole ledger for each individual company and then be able to pull out company specific data to use for accounts? Lending etc will then be done through the use of smart contracts etc on-chain through XRPL.

Then if governments create CBDC's, Visa/MasterCard payment rails are gone as it will be an interaction between the CBDC and XRP or other cryptos, not good news for Spenda unless they have an arrangement with XRP/Ripple. This is if digital money takes off and there is a CBDC widely used.

This won't happen overnight and there will be legacy systems still using the old system and Spenda may be useful for ledger to ledger for fiat through Visa/MasterCard rails, or fiat to crypto back to fiat.

This is why CBDC's play such a massive role going forward, I don't think people realise how powerful/dangerous CBDC's will be, if used incorrectly. There are many ways it could play out. Stimulus, tax returns etc can be returned straight to a digital wallet cutting out the middleman i.e your private bank, say if your digital wallet had to be a government issued wallet. If lending etc can all be done through smart contracts monitoring your income and expenses, algorithms within crypto/CBDC could very well challenge private banks. I don't know how it is going to play out, but I can see governments trying to consolidate power through crypto/CBDC.

If Spenda don't get a move on and if they don't see this dynamic emerging and somehow try to embed in the new technology they we will be left trying to integrate in old systems. I am unsure of how they would get a cut of XRP/Ripple transactions though. I suspect these legacy systems will be around for quite sometime, unless some event forces a mass migration to the new system.
