    Hi Hame 19,
your suggestion is right on. This govt has put big money into the Beetaloo basin for gas and spent around $200 on overseas oil for security reasons. Yet, here we have enough oil proven just offshore to start to address our fuel security locally. Santos knows now after Pavo that not just another offshoot is 60% chance of success, but there are many more targets for elephants, not just the wooly mammoth of Apus. This is developing into a petroleum province, in it’s early days.
The SP doesn’t reflect this value because traders are short focussed punters in the now. If Carnarvon and Santos could speak with Pitt the federal resources minister and his shadow in Labor, then possibly they could see the potential benefits. Maybe even resurrect the old Kwinana refinery, or build a new one. This is a huge opportunity to provide Australians with cheap energy.
