China Eastern Flight 5735, a Boeing 737-89P drops from Top of Descent at 31,000 ft then levels off at 7,400 ft and climbs to 8,600 ft before plunging again. due to the G forces involved, Yang Honda and Zhang Zhengping (one of the best commercial pilots of the Mainland) May be good but they are not superhuman.
Computers are used now in modern aviation to calculate speed to touchdown from Top of Descent to landing, using autopilot. It suggests an automation fault on the part of either the plane’s system or the plane’s operator in the programming not the piloting.
Zhang Zhengping might be good but he is not superman. the idea a pilot could have handled the plane like that is ridiculous, even the programming would have been quite phenomenal if a pilot set it to do that.
