It does, however raise an issue that is starting to prickle me about ongoing success. Santos have very deep pockets, and should they decide (perhaps after Apus) that this really is a good thing, they may abandon all the neatly laid-out plans to date. If they were to decide to ramp up the Bedout, and get after the exploration and appraisal, CVN may find it hard to financially keep up, to fund a large exploration program as well as the developments - all before any revenue. It wouldn’t be the first time that a junior partner has basically gone broke after realising a great discovery – just look at FAR. Sure the circumstances are different, but the plot could be similar if inappropriately managed. In such circumstances, every option for funding must remain on the table and applied as necessary. Hopefully CVN remain on the task and react appropriately for you and me.
