dharry - I think the point is, the longer term economic movements take extended periods to pass... And in-essence can be predicted at a high level, at the "Company/Stock Index" level its near impossible.
To invest now on the basis of "BRIC", you will endure many ups and downs and probably, minus inflation, be no better off.
Warren Buffett does not invest in commodities - Ever wonder why, especially considering how "awesome" the opportunity is (or so we are told)...?

PS. They wouldn't buy the companies, they would buy the resource... They have no interest in trading shares in our businesses, its just that we enforce it.
