sadly they did not win the race:

But I found somehting interesting of which I was not aware of:

Bringing Environmental Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tags to Market • Digit (digit-research.org)

Altogether, Walmart sells over 160 million different products online and in stores. While the majority of its store business continues to be in brick and mortar stores, Walmart’s online presence continues to grow and thrive.
How Many Products Does Walmart Sell In 2022? (Mind Blowing) (querysprout.com)

Its about RFID tags based on Graphene Inks. If covid did not delay the project it should be completed soon. One RFID tag does not require much graphene but the mass of products at Wallmart will add up to some tpa I guess, also if Walmart goes this route others will follow.

    Cheers
