Evening folks,
I must admit it is a pretty hollow feeling having invested in this company on the basis that the new technology that is used these days (seismic) points towards there being oil and gas at the bottom of the first hole.
We do have to give it to the management as they haven't put a foot wrong with the slow bleeding of information to gain interest from potential small investors like us.
The fact that they've stated they didn't take up the Lee County lease and have gone with Fausse definitely gained my interest. I also couldn't understand why Pass Petroleum would basically gift us the lease at Fausse in the first place for what is now only a 30% stake. But now it makes sense as at least Pass got some cash and it has helped Verus generate some money from what was a dire financial position. It'll give Verus the opportunity to invest in something in the future that could potentially make them some "honest" money.
That only leaves GGP's 20% stake which has cost them $250000, but with the money that has been made over the last couple of weeks there must be some sort of compensation for them.
If it wasn't for the events of the last couple of weeks I would still be hopeful of the story unfolding favourably, but unfortunately from my vantage point it looks like a perfectly delivered money making exercise.
For what its worth I'm the kind of person who does invest in the higher risk speculative stocks, so I'm used to getting burnt every now and then. I will still hold onto my oppies because I could be totally wrong in my judgements, as I would rather lose my money than watch them strike oil and miss out on the massive upside that has been discussed extensively. You never know they might've accidentally drilled in the wrong place where there actually is oil and gas.
Goodnight to all and sundry.
