I’d assumed that “personal reasons” is used because CXO can’t or don’t want to say SB is off to concentrate more on other business endeavours. Especially given it’s a possible 9 month timeline. I also saw it as a measure of the man that he’s going to help ensure an orderly and professional transition. Many SLB investors will be CXO holders I suspect (I am), and I’ll bet SB keeps CXO in his watchlist.
