I believe the real problem that SPENDA and Fresh Supply Co addressing is for producers to have access to cashflow, especially at the beginning of seasons when money is tight and by doing so also increase production and food security.

If farmer has 50 acres of orange trees and recieves an order for 10 tonnes of oranges at the start of the season. If they do not have the cash upfront to harvest and send the produce at the start of the season they have little option but let the oranges rot on the trees or attempt to obtain finance at exorbitant rates.

The other thing SPENDA is attempting to address in AGRI is perhaps Mr Orange farmer did have the cash on hand at the start of season to harvest and send the 10 tonnes of oranges. But then they recieve another order for a further 10 tonnes of oranges.

Now their cash is spent on the initial harvest and they are left waiting for the produce to be delivered and the invoice to be payed perhaps up to 30 days later.

So back to intitial problems of let the harvest rot on the trees whilst waiting for the invoice from the first shipment to be paid, or take out an exorbitant loan from traditional lenders.

Seems like under the current model farmers are getting screwed which in turn means less fresh produce or more expensive produce making its way to the table of Australians and chinese of late through fresh supply co and jts.

They have definitely identified a sore point that will not only benefit producers, but increase harvest jobs, increase production and decrease food costs.

Hence the Genius of what SPENDA and partners are bringing to market.
