I wonder why ASIC chose to investigate and as a result find out valuations were incorrect given the companies were out of their jurisdiction. Relating to RES even though the assets are in South Africa, this shows that ASIC can investigate to determine if appropriate values were given even if those assets are out of their jurisdiction. Not sure if this can act as a precedent especially as the article doesn't go into detail of ASICs findings but just thinking out aloud. Maybe a journalist can assist with efforts here.
