Yes, the decline has definitely been sector wide as can be seen above.
Granted. Zip has been the worst performer, but Affirm has been following a similar trajectory (the 1YR figure for Affirm looks better than it really is, given it's peak share price was less than 12 months ago, unlike Zip's). It would be interesting to see what Afterpay's share price would be today, if it hadnt' been absorbed into Block.
As for lending out shares to be shorted, I have heard this only in this Hotcopper forum. That Larry Diamond lent out his shares for the purpose of shorting. If that is true, I would consider that a complete breach of trust and I would lose a lot of confidence in the company. So I am very interested to know where you found out about this? I can't find anything online or in the media. What is your source for this? If it's only Hotcopper, then I would suggest its not true.
