Had a company try to sell me a Tesla powerwall via telemarketing the other day - quoting $15k - can't see the economics of that with my panels and the recent fall in network feed in rates. I am paying about $100 a QTR for electricity (previously I was in credit in summer and offsetting my winter deficit by the summer credits).
At that rate at current prices I would not offset the cost of the battery by the time it starts to degrade which inevitably lithium does. Also not sure I want a lithium fire risk attached to my home though admittedly there do not seem to be a lot of issues re domestic lithium batteries overheating/malfunctioning and causing a fire making it to the media.
