That is for surface temperature, but it doesn't say whether or not that is only land surface or includes sea surface temperatures. I would really like to see the changes depicted on a map so as to see where the main increases are. There are certainly areas where there has not been any increase over the temperatures of the 1800's, Darwin being one of them. It is interesting that the rapid increase in the 3 decades starting with the 1910's is only slightly less than the increase in the most recent 3 decades.
