There's no real reason the rights should be more volatile than the underlying share, there's a very simple mathematics relationship between the two. That said, the underlying share itself is currently very volatile, apparently due to high levels of confusion about how this rights issue works.
i wonder how many of those driving the price so high yesterday think they were buying shares with rights attached?
