Nice post Yaqona, but I think that it should also be on the HGO thread also - will leave it to you to decide however.
Based on the current ESG share price, HGO's deal to sell shares to Santos at $1.00 looks to have been a smart move. Even smarter, the fact that they have this top up clause to (potentially) look foward to.
I agree that ESG will be taken over at some point in the future. Anyone's guess as to when but the current ESG share price must be attracting predators to consider making an offer. And once one offer is made, ESG will be on the table and I would imagine some form of competition will come out of the woodwork. I look forward to seeing what the initial offer price is and whether accepted or not. Santos do have plenty on their plate but ESG surely must be near the top of their agenda for 2010 and beyond.
