I don't know what the big issue is here, MAKA and RKG both agree that this has "more upside than downside" they are just supporting different trading strategies - MAKA the "buy at a solid support price and wait" strategy - gives maximal possible gain on a stock but ties up capital sometimes for long periods - and RKG the "wait for a breakout/firm uptrend" strategy that delivers less gain on the stock per dollar invested but ties up capital for less time and hence allows other money to be made while waiting - but at (arguably) higher risk - as a misinterpreted false breakout may cost 10-15%.
Both valid strategies depending on your situation. If you can sit at your computer all day and watch the market the breakout strategy is great - if not- then the "buy the bottom and wait" strategy is easier and leaves you more free time for golf, sailing, surfing......
