It's never been as bad as it has been until recently. I've seen houses around me advertised as having airbnb potential. You have a look at how many entire places are listed on airbnb and you start to see where things are going wrong.
If people want to be hoteliers they should go and buy a hotel. Just another problem that was allowed to slither in and dopey local councils and state governments didn't have a clue what was occurring or waved away concerns until there was a massive housing shortage.
