Thats fairly old data you are using for your rant and it also ignores the rapidly changing space that makes up batteries, EVs and renewables.

Firstly every manufactured product on this earth uses raw materials taken from it and to our great shame very little is recycled however Lithium batteries are going against the status quo. Because of the concentrated and increasingly valuable materials in a lithium battery most of them are already recycled and they are an economically viable source of materials for new batteries.

The 3B batteries used in the US each year are mostly single use dry cells irrelevant to the EV discussion and anyway although they cheap to buy they are an expensive way to purchase power and will be replaced by Lithium batteries in the future.

I could go on, LFP batteries not using any Cobalt, 4680 format using much less copper, EV owners using their own solar and wind power to charge, batteries being repurposed as home storage as they lose capacity through misuse and/or age but I suspect you are fairly blinkered and will end up stuck in the past as the world progresses to an EV future.
