So the longs outweigh the shorts 5 to 1 ?? Them short positions aren't having any real detrimental affect on the ahareproce , apart from when the actual trade is placed as its placed as a sell ,, once they place that trade they wait , in the mean time as they wait the share price has been going up , if it keeps going up then they will be forced to cover .
I would be more concerned if a broker or insto published a short sales report on AVZ , accompanied by a large short position .
So whoever has placed this trade I would assume that they aren't really up to date on AVZ and this is just a hedge on another position they have .
