Given the if, buts and maybe’s that still surround this bid there is no surprise that the market is not convinced that the bid will go through. They may withdraw the bid according to the confidentiality clause and there could be no complaints from any shareholder as it is clearly a condition of their bid. If that happens the price will fall substantially but (in my view) not to pre-bid levels. One thing is now clear, the Board is willing to sell - its now just a matter of price.
