People investing in speculative mining stocks need to understand "Orphan Period Mining" aka the "Lassonde Curve".
MGT released it's PFS 10 months ago, the DFS is due in approximately 7 months time. Apply this time frame to the "Lassonde Curve" then consider where to park your funds. (Are you an "Investor" or a Trader")
These worthless comparisons of MGT to HIO show that too many retail investors seem to consider themselves as "Traders" when the SP goes down and "Investors" when the SP goes up...
Remember, HIO released their PFS in 2017. Their SP tanked for nearly 5 years!
This year MGT will be releasing their DFS, funding deal/s and if all goes to plan, Decision to mine... All this within 18 months of the PFS being release.
If you are an investor and you are planning for the future, hold tight, buy up what you can and apply patience to ride the curve.
We (MGT) have a massive reserve of Magnetite, 100% owned, access to ports, rail and power, a state government with a Magnetite plan that includes $10 billion investment from State and private investments scheduled in 2022! Add to this, we are on the right side boarder (Sorry HIO) which will give us first choice with state owned infrastructure, and of course tax revenue to the S.A. Government.
While I'm having my rant, I am 100% sure we will get funding (we only need 6% of the SA government's proposed magnetite fund), we will also get first shipment to market prior to HIO (my opinion). HIO is currently doing their BFS (five years after their PFS) and should be crossing their T's and dotting their I's yet they have changed the plans again, now hoping to do twice the tonnage and pipe it 400 - 500 kms in the opposite direction to an undisclosed port! Consider, before this slurry can be shipped (sold) it needs go through a de-watering plant which again it has not been disclosed where this plant is... So many holes to be filled... I'm so over hearing how much HIO SP should be worth due to the 20mtpa proposed production, good luck getting the funding... A mine able to process 100 -120mtpa to give 20mtpa product and a 400 - 500km slurry pipe, what's the total cost? $5 Billion? $6 Billion? Where is the massive amount of water coming from?
Ground water? Not a snow flakes chance in HELL!
Is there going to be a second pipe to recycle the water? So many holds to be filled....
Be careful HIO holders, these changes in the BFS may place you back to stage one on the "Lassonde Curve" in other words u might see a mass exit on the release of the BFS if funding is not secured.
Advice for MGT holders, either hold or sell and move onto something you truly believe in.... Either way stop with the constant bashing of MGT management. We are moving along at a much faster rate than most in this sector. If you consider yourself a "Trader" you should have already sold and moved your funds elsewhere...
