I thought ORD investors may like to read the original news release put out by ORD announcing its significant Cu discovery at Copper Flats on 20/11/06.

(The full details including the then mapped area showing where they found the Copper are from:

It all sounds very promising to me!

Ord River Resources makes significant copper discovery in the Kimberleys

Ord River Resources has potentially made one of the most significant discoveries in Australian copper mining history, due to the very high grade of the copper involved.
The company is now set to embark on a major drilling campaign after identifying the deposits in the East Kimberley area of Western Australia.
Rock chip samples taken from various locations at the tenement contain percentages up to 42.5% copper.
The average of seven rock chip samples over a 60-metre interval was 24.49% copper.
The zone of mineralisation is approximately 1500-m by 1000-m and open in all directions. The thicker parts of the zone are between 3-m to 8-m, with a lateral extend of approximately 500-m by 1000-m.
We are very excited by these findings, said John Towner, Executive Chairman, ORD.
Weve found high grade copper in a flat mineralised zone just below the surface, so mining will be easy said Mr Towner.
To put this in perspective, the Mount Gunson copper mine in South Australia extracted 7.5 million tonnes of rock at a grade of 1.9% copper between 1974 and 1986.
As a result, ORD has applied for additional areas of approximately 2000km2, in addition to its holdings of 692 km2.
With the additional tenements, which are expected to be granted within six months, ORD anticipates proving up a sizeable deposit that may be up to five million tonnes in size. Grade will only be known after drilling is carried out.
Taken together, the apparently very high grade of the copper and the potential size of the deposit means there is real potential for a commercially successful mining operation.
ORD made the discovery after using data from a previous explorer which apparently did not recognise the significance of its results.
It was ORDs systematic follow-up of those findings which revealed the areas promise, said Towner. Were very proud of the high-quality work being done.
ORD will further expand the exploration program to determine the commercial potential of the deposits. This extensive program will occur early in the next dry season.
Further exploration will be assisted by ORDs understanding of the structurally and stratigraphically controlled nature of the mineralisation, which means ORD can more reliably predict where further deposits may lie. We are hopeful of being able to produce economic resources from the high grade of copper mineralisation we have found so far. Further exploration will confirm the scale and quality of the resource, said Towner.
The mineralisation lies in the uppermost Antrim Plateau Volcanics and in the lowermost part of the Headleys Limestone. The strike length of the potential host rock to mineralisation, in our tenements and tenement applications, is estimated at 110km long, and up to 10km wide. The mineralisation is overlaid by a thin overburden layer, often less than four metres.
The area has been explored for many years for copper deposits similar to the Michigan Copper Belt deposits, USA. One mine in the Michigan Copper Belt had a total resource of over 500 million tonnes at 1% copper, and was operated for more than 40 years.
