Those in the know bought whatever they could late last week and will most likely continue to leading into the upcoming gold results.
At this end of the market, company RE-RATINGS occur in-tandem with KEY, STRATEGIC ANNOUNCEMENTS.
We have recently had one such announcement - acquisition of an ELEPHANT GOLD ASSET - and will get another in a WEEK OR SO.
If ever a stock was about to be re-rated, this may be it.
In addition, look for stocks with influential board members or mining identities behind it. Take IOH for instance. There are a lot of IOH's out there. But only 1 with Kerry Stokes. He is the reason they deal with RIO was struck, and is the reasom the SP is >$1.50 as opposed to <$0.50.
In regards to LRC, look no further then the MAJOR SHAREHOLDER - Ascent Capital or David Steinepreis.
Ascent Capital and the Steinepreis brothers have a first class track record at creating enormous shareholder wealth. They re-capped EXT amongst another dozen plus companies for peanuts and it is now one of the leading uranium stocks in Australia and potentially in the world shortly.
Whats great about there stocks is they provide at market support, and when they run, they really run.
And if ever LRC was about to RE-RATE and really run, it is in January off the back of:
"Laguna Resources NL is very pleased to announce that drilling is progressing well at the Arqueros Gold Project, in the northern sector of the World Class Maricunga Gold Belt in the Atacama Region of Chile. The initial drilling programme commenced in late November 2009 and a total of thirteen RC holes has been completed for approximately 2,400 metres. The first batch of assays results are expected to be delivered and announced WITHIN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS".
Those results should be out in a week or so imo. The later the better...(hopefullly) the bigger the move pre-results and the more traders back into the game ready to re-load for 2010.
I'll be honest. The upcoming gold results provide an imminent price catalyst, but its the recent Cachitos Acquisition that really excites me going forward for the next 6 months plus.
It would not surprise me to see 4-5cents + in January and LRC to be the market darling for some time to come.
